Private estate driveway gate
WHO WE SERVE — 09

On a large property, the driveway is the security plan.

Ornamental gates that are also barriers, service entrances with expiring codes, and coverage of the grounds that still works when you are away for a month.

01 — THE THREAT
SERVICE TRAFFIC ALL WEEK, AND NOBODY HOME FOR A MONTH.

An estate has a long perimeter, one meaningful opening, and constant authorized traffic — gardeners, housekeepers, contractors, deliveries. The risk is not a fence someone climbs. It is the volume of people who legitimately have a way in, and the weeks when nobody is there to notice.

So the design is a real barrier at the drive that still looks like part of the house, a separate service entrance with credentials that expire, and coverage of the parking court and grounds that someone answers while you are away.

02 — WHAT ACTUALLY GOES WRONG
3 PATTERNS

Where it fails on this property type

Driveway theft

Packages and vehicles at the parking court. Plate capture and a gate that closes behind you handle most of it.

Service traffic

Six vendors with the code is six copies of the key. Expiring per-vendor credentials, revoked when the contract ends.

Vacant periods

Weeks away change the spec: monitored response and voice-down rather than footage you review later.

03 — WHAT WE INSTALL
THE STACK

What we install here

01
Custom ornamental drive gates, fabricated and automated, built to be a barrier and read as architecture.
02
Perimeter fencing and screening where the property line is genuinely walkable.
03
Plate capture for known vehicles, a service entrance with expiring codes, and video intercom at the drive.
04
Parking court, approach and grounds coverage with monitored voice-down for the months away.
05
A link to the gate that stays up, with battery backup at the entry.
04 — CODE & COMPLIANCE
3 REQUIREMENTS

Specified up front, not corrected at inspection

Fire and responder access

Strike release or Knox at the drive gate, and manual release specified for a power loss.

Gate safety and entrapment

UL 325 devices on a heavy ornamental gate are not optional, and a long driveway gate is the most common place we find them missing.

HOA and architectural review

Where a community reviews gate design, we produce the drawings and take the submittal.

05 — WHAT DRIVES COST
5 FACTORS

What drives the cost here

Scoped to the property, not a per-unit rate card. These are the factors that move the number, in the order they usually matter.

FACTOR
WHY IT MATTERS
Gate span, material and finish
A twenty-foot ornamental gate is fabrication work, and finish choices move the number significantly.
Driveway length and trenching
Getting power and data to a gate three hundred feet from the house is often the largest line.
Grounds coverage
Approach, parking court and the walkable perimeter, priced per camera plus its run.
Network to the entry
A reliable path to the gate, with a backup for the weeks nobody is home.
Monitoring
Live response and voice-down while you are away, priced monthly.
06 — COMMON OBJECTIONS
3 ANSWERED

What people usually push back on

"We want ornamental, not industrial."

Those are not in conflict. The structure that makes a gate a barrier is behind the ornament; we fabricate both in our own shop and detail it with your architect.

"HOA review will kill it."

We do these submittals regularly. Design to the guidelines first, drawings second, and the approval usually follows without a fight.

"We are away half the year."

Then the system is designed for that: monitored voice-down, health alerts if a camera or the link drops, and a credential list we manage so vendor access does not drift.

09 — FAQS
3 QUESTIONS

Private Estates FAQs

Can you build a gate to match the house?

Yes. Gates are fabricated in our own shop, so the design is drawn with your architect or builder rather than picked from a catalog.

Will the gate work in a power outage?

Battery backup runs it for a documented number of cycles, and manual release is always specified.

Can vendor codes expire on their own?

Yes, per vendor and per date. It is the single most useful feature on an estate system.
