Gate Automation Retrofit

We'll automate a gate we didn't build once we've checked it can take the load. That means surveying the frame, hinges and hardware first — automating a gate that isn't structurally ready just moves the failure point from your hand to a motor.

COST
5 FACTORS

What drives the cost

Scoped to your property, not a flat per-item rate. These are the factors that move the number, in the order they usually matter.

FACTOR
WHY IT MATTERS
Structural condition
A gate needing reinforcement costs more before automation even starts.
Gate weight
Heavier gates need a larger, more expensive operator.
Power access
Whether power already reaches the gate location.
Entry method
Keypad, intercom, credentials or app changes wiring scope.
Safety devices
Loop and photo-eye count needed to bring it to current code.
FAQ

Gate Automation Retrofit FAQs

Can any existing gate be automated?

Most can, once the frame and hinges are confirmed to take the load — that's the first thing we check, before quoting.

Will retrofitting damage the existing gate?

No — we fit the operator and hardware to the gate as built, reinforcing only where the survey shows it's needed.

Is a retrofit cheaper than a new automated gate?

Usually, if the existing gate is structurally sound. If it isn't, replacement can end up more cost-effective than reinforcing it.
