04 — SURVEILLANCE

Cameras placed to identify, not just to record.

Coverage designed backwards from the footage you would actually need: faces at the entry, plates at the drive, and live monitoring that speaks to an intruder while they are still deciding.

Most camera systems fail at the only moment they matter: the footage exists, and it is useless. A wide shot of a driveway at night tells you a person was there, not who. The difference is not megapixels — it is placement, lens choice, and lighting decided against a purpose: identification at the entry, detection along the line, plates at the drive.

So we start from what you would need to hand an investigator, then work back to camera count and position. Retention is set deliberately — long enough to cover the gap between an incident and someone noticing it. And because recorded video is evidence, not deterrence, we install live-monitored cameras as a Deep Sentinel partner where the point is to stop the event, not document it.

Cameras on their own watch. Paired with a fence that forces the approach, a gate and access control that name who came in, and a network that keeps recording, watching becomes evidence and response — which is the Complete Security Gate System.

01 — HOW IT WORKS
CORE SPEC

Coverage, retention and what actually gets reviewed

Two numbers decide whether a camera system earns its cost: pixels on target at the distance you care about, and how many days of footage you still have when you finally go looking. We size both on paper before quoting, and we mount for the night shot, not the daylight demo — because almost everything you will review happened in the dark.

We install new systems, extend and re-aim existing ones, and take over cameras someone else abandoned — including recovering footage from an NVR nobody has been able to log into for a year.

Placement by purpose

Identification at the entry, detection along the line, plates at the drive.

Pixels on target

Lens and distance chosen so a face is recognisable, not just present.

Night & IR performance

Mounted and lit for the 2am shot, since that is the footage you will watch.

Live monitoring & voice-down

A monitor speaks to the intruder in seconds. Deterrence, not documentation.

Retention & storage

Days of footage sized to how long incidents take to surface. Usually 30.

Camera down now

Offline camera, dead recorder, footage you cannot pull — we dispatch across SoCal.

02 — WHAT WE INSTALL
OPTIONS

Cameras we install

Which cameras you need comes down to distance, light, and whether the job is to recognize a face, read a plate, or catch movement where nobody should be.

PHOTO NEEDED
sur-type-fixed.webp — fixed dome / turret

Fixed dome & turret

The workhorse. One camera, one job, aimed at a known choke point — doors, gates, walkways.

PHOTO NEEDED
sur-type-ptz.webp — PTZ camera

PTZ & long-range

Yards and large lots: pan and zoom to follow, or reach across 300 feet of open ground.

PHOTO NEEDED
sur-type-monitored.webp — Deep Sentinel camera

Live-monitored cameras

A human sees the intrusion live and speaks through the camera. The only camera that intervenes.

PHOTO NEEDED
sur-type-lpr.webp — license plate camera

License plate cameras

Purpose-built for plates at speed and at night, where a normal camera gives you a blur.

PHOTO NEEDED
sur-type-thermal.webp — thermal / analytics

Thermal & analytics

Line-crossing and loiter alerts on dark perimeters, with far fewer false alarms than motion.

Existing systems

Cameras already up, or a recorder nobody can log into. We audit what you have before selling you anything new.

04 — HOW WE BUILD
4 STEPS

How we design a camera system

01

Site walk

We walk the site at night as well as in daylight, and list what you would actually need to prove.

02

Coverage plan

Camera count, position, lens and retention on a drawing — approved before anything is mounted.

03

Install & aim

Cabled, mounted, aimed and focused at night, with every view signed off on screen.

04

Handover & health checks

You get the app, the layout and the retention in writing — and we check it is still recording.

05 — WHAT DRIVES COST
5 FACTORS

What drives the cost of a camera system

Camera count is the obvious line; cabling and storage are the ones people forget. These are the five things that move a surveillance quote, in the order they usually matter.

FACTOR
WHY IT MATTERS
Camera count
Driven by choke points, not by square footage — fewer cameras, better aimed.
Identification level
Recognising a face or reading a plate costs more than seeing that someone was there.
Cabling & PoE
Runs to a gate 300 feet out, conduit, switching and power at both ends.
Retention & storage
Thirty days at high resolution is a very different recorder from seven.
Monitoring
Recorded only, or live-monitored with a human who can intervene.

08 — FAQS
4 QUESTIONS

Security camera FAQs

How many cameras do I actually need?

Fewer than most quotes assume. Coverage follows choke points — entries, drives, walkways, blind corners — not square footage. Six cameras aimed at the places someone must pass beat sixteen aimed at open ground.

How long is footage kept?

We size storage for 30 days by default, because incidents routinely surface a week or two later. Longer retention is a storage decision, and we quote it as one.

Do cameras actually prevent anything?

Recorded cameras document; they rarely deter. Live-monitored cameras do — a monitor sees the intrusion, speaks through the camera, and most people leave. We install them as a Deep Sentinel authorized partner.

Can I watch the cameras from my phone?

Yes. Every system we install includes remote viewing on phone and desktop, set up so it is reachable without leaving the recorder exposed to the open internet.
