Access control is the difference between a gate that opens and a gate that knows who opened it. A clicker is a key anyone can pass on, and nobody can tell you afterwards who used it. A credential is issued to a person, revoked in seconds, and leaves a record — which is why almost every access job we do starts with a client who has lost count of how many remotes are out there.
We design around two questions: who needs in, and what happens when something fails. Credentials live at the door or the gate, so codes and cards keep working with no internet at all. Fire access, egress hardware and manual release are specified before anything else, because an access system that traps people in an emergency has failed no matter how well it logs.
Access control on its own tells you a code was used. Paired with an automated gate, cameras on the same entry point and a network that stays up, each entry has a name, a timestamp and video attached — which is the Complete Security Gate System.
The two questions that decide an access system are how people identify themselves and what the hardware does on its own when the cloud, the power or the network is gone.
