Warehouse loading dock and truck gate
WHO WE SERVE — 05

Freight keeps moving. Everything else stops at the gate.

01 — THE THREAT
A YARD IS A PERIMETER WITH A SCHEDULE, AND DRIVERS WILL NOT WAIT AT A KEYPAD.

Industrial security fails on throughput. Put a keypad on a truck gate and within a month it is propped open, because the cost of a queue at the dock is larger than the perceived cost of an open yard. So the credential has to be the vehicle itself.

From there it is coverage and infrastructure: analytics on the fence lines nobody drives past, retention long enough for an insurer and a claim, and a network that reaches the far corner of the property without a wireless link that drops in the heat.

02 — WHAT ACTUALLY GOES WRONG
3 PATTERNS

Where it fails on this property type

Trailer and load theft

High value, low witness. Plates at both gates and analytics on the fence line are what produce a usable case.

Unauthorized drivers

A yard with no credential at the gate cannot say who was in it. Plate lists and event history fix that.

Copper and cable theft

Roof and side yards, usually weekends. Detection at the line matters more than cameras at the door.

03 — WHAT WE INSTALL
THE STACK

What we install here

01
Industrial slide and cantilever gates sized for continuous truck traffic.
02
Fence-line hardening and anti-climb at the sides with no visibility.
03
Plate recognition and driver credentials, with events exported to your systems.
04
Yard analytics, dock coverage and retention set to what your insurer requires.
05
Fiber and switching across the site, so the far corner is as reliable as the office.
04 — CODE & COMPLIANCE
3 REQUIREMENTS

Specified up front, not corrected at inspection

Fire lanes and access

Gates and hardware specified so lanes stay clear and responders get in without cutting.

Industrial gate safety

High-cycle operators, entrapment protection and vehicle detection, documented for inspection.

Insurer and retention requirements

Footage retention, camera coverage and access logs written to the policy language before install.

05 — WHAT DRIVES COST
5 FACTORS

What drives the cost here

Scoped to the property, not a per-unit rate card. These are the factors that move the number, in the order they usually matter.

FACTOR
WHY IT MATTERS
Gate span and duty cycle
A forty-foot cantilever running all day is the anchor of the budget.
Plate recognition points
Each truck gate, in and out, with the lighting to make it read at night.
Yard coverage and analytics
Fence line versus dock versus lot are three different specifications.
Site infrastructure
Fiber, conduit and switching across acres. Usually the second largest line.
Retention length
Thirty days versus ninety changes storage, and your insurer often decides it.
06 — COMMON OBJECTIONS
3 ANSWERED

What people usually push back on

"Drivers will not wait at a gate."

They do not have to. Plate recognition opens for known vehicles without stopping, and unknown ones get an intercom to the office. Throughput usually improves over a manual gate.

"We already have cameras and they are useless."

Usually a placement and light problem, not a hardware one. We will tell you which of yours are worth keeping before we quote replacements.

"Corporate IT owns the network."

Good. We hand them a documented VLAN plan and stay on their side of the demarcation. We have done this inside plenty of managed environments.

07 — CASE STUDY
FIELD RESULT

A six-acre distribution yard in Fontana

Two trailers taken in eighteen months and a wireless link that failed in the heat. We put plate recognition on both truck gates, analytics on the two dark fence lines, and ran fiber to replace the link.

09 — FAQS
3 QUESTIONS

Warehouses and Distribution FAQs

Can plate recognition work at night with headlights on?

Yes, with an IR-illuminated camera set for plate capture rather than faces. It is a specific configuration and we set it per lane.

Will this integrate with our WMS or visitor system?

Events can be exported or pushed to most platforms. Tell us what has to receive them and we will scope the integration.

Can you work around our shift schedule?

Yes. Gate work is staged so a lane is always open, including overnight cutovers.

Tell us about your warehouses and distribution.

Name, phone and ZIP. We walk it before we price it.
